Read today’s texts first: Ephesians 1-4
MAXIMize YOUR DAY
We rule with Christ now! It is the church, not the
politicians, who determine the future of our nation.
politicians, who determine the future of our nation.
While our politicians debate over who is really in charge of our country, my Bible reading provides the answer: the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come (1:19,20). The source of all authority is Jesus.
It would be easy to say that Jesus is in charge and sit passively by while we wait for Him to intervene in our current political crisis. But authority is distributed to us as well: but God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved) and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus (2:4-7). We rule with Christ now! It is the church, not the politicians, who determine the future of our nation.
“Lord, I will assume the position of authority You have given me to be a leader, a model for others to follow, and a prayer warrior that exercises Your authority in my nation.”
